Darkness blankets the mountains high,
Attacking the blue amid the sky,
Revenge is on the sunlight reams,
Kind? Not night and it's evil schemes.
Night is back,
Evil again!
Slowness creeps
Silence sleeps.

As I was lying in my bed one dark gloomy night, I saw something pass by my window. Then all of a sudden I heard a bang! The room went dark and the night  light was glowing. Outside there was a big, black object creeping down the street. All the houses were crooked and bent. I looked at my cat sleeping at the bottom of my bed. Half an hour later I saw a big hand coming in through the open window, and I pulled the blanket over my face. I was scared stiff. After a while there was a huge shadow moving on the bedroom wall. Then I screamed and ran out of my room. My mum was going to bed and she shouted,
"Go to sleep!" Then I heard someone else whispering. My father shouted,
"Stop whispering!" and I replied gently
" It wasn't me!" Then frighteningly the enormous hand came through the window again. I was lucky that it didn't get to me. The moon was as white as a sheet. After what seemed a long, long time I noticed that it was a giant! I screamed, and I ran into my Mum and Dad's room. The giant was enormous and scary. I felt awful so I tried to go to sleep. I had such a terrible night that I dreamed about it all the next night.

No sunlight, no sight but night
No friendship, no fun for anyone,
No dawn, no dusk, no noon ,some moon.
No sun, no light, but night.
No bright colours, no gold, no green,
No comfort, no help,
No brightness, all darkness.

My monster lives in my street
He only comes out at night
My monster lives in my street
He'll give you a terrible fright.
His eyes are like fire
His teeth are quite sharp
His nose is like a beacon
His head glows in the dark.
He's incredibly hairy
With wings on his back
A cudgel in his hand
And a child in his sack

On a dark night me and Sophie were excited because it was night. We heard whistling then we weren't sure if we wanted to stay but we did. Suddenly we ran away into the dark wood and realised we were lost. In a couple of minutes we heard a noise coming from a tree. We were a little scared but I said,
"Come on!" so we did and started to climb the tree. It was a lonely owl. By now we were disappointed to be lost. As quick as a flash these people came past. It was my mother and father. We were found!
